The Hotel Meublè Vecchio Scarpone is situated exactly in the center of Baceno, at an altitude of about 700 metres.
The favourable position lets tourists reach in 15 minutes Alpe Devero, where in winter season is possible to play descent skiing with installations recently potentiated, bottom skiing and alpine skiing; while in summer is possible to make excursions at different levels of difficulty, immersed in enchanting alpine sceneries and in the uncontaminated nature of Parco Naturale Veglia Devero.

The structure, from which you can admire Monte Cervandone (3210 m) that marks the boundary with Switzerland, and Monte Gorio (2593 m) that gives the name to the valley, is situated at 10 minutes from Domodossola, at 30 minutes from Formazza and Toce waterfall (the most spectacular water jump in Europe), and at about 30 minutes from the skiing installation of S. Domenico and Domobianca, Alpe Veglia, Valle Vigezzo, Lago Maggiore and Lago d'Orta.

The Vecchio Scarpone is the ideal starting-point for car excursions in Ossola and Verbano, but also for walks, discovering the beauties of our Valley (at 300 metres is situated the S. Gaudenzio church, national monument, and at 10 minutes the Orridi di Uriezzo, deep trenches excavated in the stone by the millenary roar of river Toce).
